Transformative art by light painting with Cha
Excited to present a slide show of Cha’s work during the 2024 upcoming events produced by The Bushwick Collective from May 30th, May 31st and come check out the freshly spray can art on their walls during the block party on June 1st!
Chanette Manso, aka Cha started light painting existing wall art in San Francisco in the late nineties. So when she discovered the street art in Bushwick, Brooklyn, she spent many inspired nights with her flashlights and camera. All Cha’s work is done in camera, including long exposures and a few double exposures. The series of double exposures played with the idea of putting street art in the street and then why not other cityscapes.
During 2019 and 2020, she ran a series workshops using these same walls and streets. Chanette is French American born and a leading international light painter. She especially values community, so after co-founding the French league of light painters, it was natural to be attracted to the street art community in the neighborhood she chose to live during 2018.
It’s a great honor for her to share her visuals now with Joe and his artists. Many thanks to all his artists that inspired her from 2016 to 2023 NYC.
