Body Painting in Time Square

I joined the Polar Bear Public Body Painting in Time Square on February 9th, 2019 with artist Andy Golub. February in New York City is freezing, especially on this day of body painting, which first took place inside, before parading to Time Square.

I designed my body painting inspired by an anime movie, ‘The Tale of the Princess Kaguya’, which is all hand painted image by image. The image of the moon princess birthing from a bamboo shoot struck me as magical and that is the image I painted onto the body of an ex-military suffering from PTSD. He loved it so much, he didn’t want to wash it off and slept with in on for a couple nights.
